FAFSA

You are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 15. Do not wait for an admission decision to fill out your FAFSA! This will enable us to determine eligibility before the first non-refundable tuition deposit is due.

To complete FAFSA:

  • Visit the FAFSA website.
  • Use code number 009762 (Note: this is the same code as the University of Southern Maine.)
  • You can complete your FAFSA for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year using tax returns from 2022.

Note that no additional (institutional) application for financial aid at the University of Maine School of Law is required.

Additionally, the USM priority deadline is February 1.

For additional information regarding your FAFSA application, please contact Norma Catalano (catalano@maine.edu or 207.780.4166) in the Office of Student Financial Services at the University of Southern Maine. For all other inquiries, please contact the Office of Admissions (lawadmissions@maine.edu or 207-780-4341).
