Maine Law’s flex time option allows students whose obligations prevent them from studying full-time to enroll in a reduced course load. Flex time students are required to take a minimum of seven credit hours per semester from the 1L curriculum during their first year of study, including Civil Procedure and Legal Research, Analysis, & Communication I and II. Students complete the rest of the 1L curriculum during their second year at Maine Law.
Flex time students typically complete their degree in four years, but have up to seven years to finish their studies.
All flex time students must be accepted into the J.D. program through the regular admissions process. For additional information, please contact the Office of Admissions at 207.780.4341 or lawadmissions@maine.edu.
The Law School does not discriminate in making admission decisions. Read the full non-discrimination policy.
