FAFSA

You are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 15. Do not wait for an admission decision to fill out your FAFSA! This will enable us to determine eligibility before the first non-refundable tuition deposit is due.

To complete FAFSA:

  • Visit the FAFSA website.
  • Use code number 009762 (Note: this is the same code as the University of Southern Maine.)
  • You can complete your FAFSA for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year using tax returns from 2023.

Note that no additional (institutional) application for financial aid at the University of Maine School of Law is required.

To ensure priority consideration for any need-based financial aid and to take advantage of the best available funding, file your 2024-2025 FAFSA by March 15th to meet USM’s priority April 1st priority deadline.
