Master of Legal Studies
The University of Maine School of Law offers a Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) program designed for professionals who would benefit from a comprehensive understanding of the law, particularly those who work in highly regulated fields like finance, technology, healthcare, environment, human resources, nonprofit, or government.
The curriculum is designed to provide beneficial learning in a flexible format. All students are required to complete two core courses that provide foundational knowledge in legal studies. Students then have the opportunity to choose among elective courses based on their interests, as well as specializations in General Legal Studies, Compliance, or the Blue Economy.
The M.L.S. program is typically completed in 18 to 24 months and requires the completion of 30 credits hours.
