Public Order of the Arctic
International lawyers, students, Indigenous leaders, and scientists will gather in Portland on April 18 and 19, 2024 to discuss the impacts of current events on the status of the Arctic. Climate science will set the backdrop for discussing shipping routes, iceberg exchanges, and loss and damage funds while geopolitics will be discussed in light of Russian and Scottish attempts to redefine national borders. The Symposium will be presented by the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal and the University of Maine School of Law Arctic Program.
