If you think you will need financial assistance to meet the costs associated with your legal education you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students are encouraged to apply for aid by February 15th. (Do not wait for an admission decision to apply for financial aid!) This will enable the Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility before the first non-refundable tuition deposit is due.
How To Apply:
- Submit your FAFSA electronically by visiting the FAFSA website.
- Applicants to the University of Maine School of Law must use the University of Southern Maine Title IV code number 009762 on the FAFSA.
- Students will be able to file a 2017–18 FAFSA as early as October 1, 2016 using 2015 tax information.
Note that no additional (institutional) application for financial aid at the University of Maine School of Law is required.
