Alumni and Giving

A Place of Great Opportunity

Despite its small size of only 3,000 graduates, Maine Law's alumni/ae serve as leaders in law, government, private industry, civic affairs and education. Alumni/ae remain close to the Law School, and students have the opportunity to interact informally with them in many ways. Also, the alumni/ae network routinely helps many students find meaningful internships and clerkship opportunities. In addition, the Alumni Association runs an alumni-student mentor program which pairs interested 2Ls and 3Ls with an alumnus/a with similar practice interests.

The alumni/ae profile is diverse, with graduates living in 42 states and around the world. Graduates outside Maine have proven to be a wonderful resource for students. They have helped arrange interviews and referrals, and some have even housed visiting students.

Alumni/ae participation in our annual fundraising effort is among the highest of any public law school in the United States. The Association supports a number of scholarships, summer public interest fellowships and a wide variety of projects that enrich the Law School.

The Office of Alumni Relations and Development coordinates the Annual Fund effort and also provides alumni/ae with information about the School and their classmates.
