As we look forward to celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr., Day at Maine Law, we come together as a community to recognize the importance of Equity and Justice in a complex world.
In the midst of these complexities, however, several principles remain clear and straightforward:
- Diversity makes every community stronger.
- Black lives do matter.
- Justice and equity are cornerstones of our democracy.
Maine Law is a community that strives to support all of these principles. Please join us in celebrating the life of the man who left us with such a clear vision, and with this quote, to which I commend you all:
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ “
-Leigh Saufley, Maine Law President & Dean
