Laura is the Director of Academic Success and Associate Professor at the University of Maine School of Law. With a background in law and educational psychology, Laura approaches academic success through a student-first lens, focusing on developing the skills, competencies, and habits necessary to succeed in law school and beyond.
While in law school, she served as President of the Poverty Law Society, Director of Street Law, and Managing Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law. She worked as a peer tutor, student attorney in the Pediatric Advocacy and Workers Rights Clinics, and as a contributor to the Civil Rights Litigation Clearinghouse.
Prior to joining Maine Law, Laura served as the inaugural Director of Academic Success at Tulane University Law School and spent more than ten years working with students with disabilities in K-12 education settings as a teacher, instructional coach, advocate, and attorney. Outside of work, Laura enjoys baking, spending time on the water, and exploring Portland with her puppy.
