Sarah Whitfield, Ph.D.

Sarah joined the University of Maine School of Law in May 2024 as the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement. Sarah comes to Maine Law after almost four years in annual giving at the University of Southern Maine Foundation and six years in career services at her alma mater, Colby College. She holds an MPP from American University and a PhD in Public Policy at USM. A native Mainer, Sarah spent five years in Washington, DC in education policy research after graduation and was a very active alumni volunteer leader. 

Outside of work, Sarah has been serving on the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen for four years, three as chair. She’s also currently in ministry school and serves multiple churches throughout Maine. She resides in Wiscasset with her partner Dennis and their two cats and a dog.
