Bradford Colbert is a professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He has dedicated his career to criminal justice and prisoner advocacy. Professor Colbert is the Director of the Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners Clinic; the LAMP Clinic represents people who are incarcerated with their civil legal issues and challenges to their sentences. In addition to his clinical work, Professor Colbert teaches Criminal Law and Constitutional Criminal Procedure. Professor Colbert has received the William E. McGee Public Defender Award of Excellence, which is given to a public defender in recognition of the person’s commitment and dedication to public defense, and was named an Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer, in recognition of the service he provided to juveniles serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
