At Maine Law, we provide our students with the tools they need to be career-ready at graduation. Our alumni use these tools to find meaningful work in a variety of professional fields including government, business and industry, judiciary, clerkships, privacy, public interest, and more.
Maine’s current governor, Janet Mills ’76, is a Maine Law graduate, as are four former governors: John McKernan ’74, Kenneth Curtis ’58, Joseph Brennan ’63, and James Longley ’57.
Our alumni are attorneys within the offices of the Attorney General, U.S. Attorney, and various district attorneys. Alumni are also found in many state agencies, including the Maine Public Utilities Commission, Maine Unemployment Insurance Commission, Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and in federal positions with the Department of Justice, the Securities Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
