Professor Jeffrey Maine speaks in Ireland and Vietnam

Jeffrey Maine, Maine Law Foundation Professor of Law at the University of Maine School of Law, recently spoke in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. He spoke at a conference on the intersection of trade agreements and global tax efforts to reduce tax avoidance by multinational companies.  His presentation will be published in the SMU Science and Technology Law Review later this year.

Earlier, Professor Maine spoke in Limerick, Ireland, on how multinational companies reduce their domestic and foreign tax burdens by transferring their intellectual property assets and operations to foreign subsidiaries in low-tax countries like Ireland. The talk was based on a forthcoming book to be published in Cambridge University Press.

Professor Maine is an expert on tax law who has authored or co-authored seven books and more than a dozen articles in the field. He has more than 21 years of experience in teaching, including positions at Stetson University College of Law, University of Idaho College of Law, Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, the John Marshall Law School, and the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
