The University of Maine School of Law provides a quality education which begins with the selection of a diverse, motivated, and accomplished student body.

To be eligible for admission, you must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and register with the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). The admissions committee relies upon the criteria below to assess applicants to Maine Law:

  1. Academic readiness, as demonstrated in undergraduate and graduate course of study, LSAT exam, timed writing sample, addenda, and personal statement, and attention to detail throughout your application.
  2. Maine Law community impact, as demonstrated through the personal statement, addenda to the personal statement, letters of recommendation, and interactions with the members of the Maine Law community.
  3. Motivation, as demonstrated through the personal statement, addenda to the personal statement, and letters of recommendation.

Candidates will be accepted on a rolling basis, and are notified as soon as an admission decision is made. Admission is for the fall semester only. Read the full Admission Evaluation Standard.
