Student Bar Association

Each student is a member of the Student Bar Association (SBA), which is an affiliate of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association.

The SBA promotes educational and social activities among the students and provides a means by which they may participate in the governance of the Law School and the University.

The SBA takes part in the new student orientation program and provides first-year students with upper-class mentors to share their knowledge and experience about law school.

Other traditional highlights of each year include:

  • the annual Fall picnic;
  • the fall golf tournament
  • assisting with the Alumni Association's annual four-mile Road Race;
  • the Winter "pageant" where students put present a light-hearted spoof of faculty, administration and each other

SBA functions as an umbrella organization, providing funding through the Student Activity Fee and coordinating the activities of all student organizations.

Four officers are elected by the entire student body and three students from each class are elected by their classmates to serve on the SBA Board of Governors. The Board of Governers serves as a liaison between the faculty, the administration and the student body.
