Academic Support Program
The Academic Support Program is designed to help Maine Law students to be successful in law school. The goal of the program is to teach the basic skills necessary to study the law effectively and to present strategies that enable students to make the most of their academic efforts. The program is available to all first-year students who may participate on a voluntary basis. Additionally, the program provides support for those second- and third-year students who need help with overall learning strategies.
Maine Law offers all first-year students the opportunity to take advantage of the Academic Support program. Through this program, students are exposed to the basic skills necessary to study law effectively and to strategies that enable students to make the most of their academic efforts and to minimize stress. Upper-division law students, serving as TAs, hold weekly study group sessions. At these sessions, students review course materials, develop exam writing strategies, and learn how to manage their time. TA’s are also available to meet individually with students during weekly office hours.
