International Exchange
Canadian Exchange Program
A student who is in good academic standing and has completed the first year of law school is eligible to attend the Dalhousie University Law School, Halifax, Nova Scotia or the University of New Brunswick School of Law, as an exchange student for a semester. This program is part of a broader relationship between the schools which includes Faculty contacts, joint conferences, and other types of joint projects.
European Semester Abroad Programs
Students in good academic standing who have finished the first year of law school are eligible to apply for study abroad for one semester at an institution with which the University of Maine School of Law has an exchange agreement. Currently these schools are University of Buckingham, England; National University of Ireland, Galway, Ireland; Universit du Maine in LeMans, France, and Cergy-Pontoise University in Paris.
Participation in any Canadian or European program is limited to two students per semester. For the Canadian, English, Irish, and French programs, Maine students will register for and receive credit from the University of Maine School of Law. They will pay tuition at the regular University of Maine rate. For information about semester abroad programs, please see the Assistant Dean.
