Egypt in Transition: Panel Presentation at Maine Law on March 28, 2011
The International Law Society at the University of Maine School of Law and the World Affairs Council of Maine present a panel of experts to discuss recent events in Egypt & their implications. The panel includes:
- Selma Botman, President of the University of Southern Maine and a scholar of modern Egypt and Middle Eastern politics;
- Mahmud Faksh, Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Southern Maine, who has published extensively on Middle East and Islamic affairs;
- Charles Dunbar, retired US Ambassador with a long career in the Arab world, including embassy positions in Algeria, Morocco, Qatar and Yemen
The panel will be moderated by Kathleen Kinawy Sutherland, a longtime resident in Egypt and researcher on Egyptian society, including the role of women. This event will take place on Monday, March 28th from 5:15 – 6:45 pm in the Moot Court Room at the University of Maine School of Law. This program is free and open to the public.
