Circulation

The Garbrecht Law Library Circulation Desk is located outside the main elevator on the third floor of the Law School building. Items in the library collection have limited circulation. Primary law materials, reference, and reserve items may not be removed from the library. The circulation period for other materials is determined by your relationship to the law school.

Borrowing from the Law Library

Visit the Circulation Desk on the 3rd floor during circulation desk hours to borrow and return library items. Borrowers should present library cards at time of transactions. All current University of Maine System cards are accepted.

Most Library materials may not leave the law school building, although some items can be checked out to a student’s carrel or a faculty member’s office. Classified treatises are the only materials that can leave the building.

Community Borrowers must first complete a patron registration form at the Circulation Desk to borrow classified treatises.

Borrowed materials are subject to recall at any time.
