Charles H. Norchi is Visiting Professor at the University of Maine School of Law during the 2007-08 academic year. An international lawyer, educator and author, Dr. Norchi is also Research Fellow at the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has lectured or consulted in two dozen nations and has taught and published widely in the areas of international law, human rights, law of the sea, public policy and nation-building. Dr. Norchi has extensively worked on law and human rights in Afghanistan, has recently served as counselor to the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and is currently working on law and policy pertaining to maritime ports. At Maine Law, he teaches law and policy courses in international relations and ocean and coastal subjects and is special advisor to the Marine Law Institute.
