Fred Torrisi '74
Hon. Fred Torrisi '74 (pictured left at Lake Kulik) serves on the Dillingham Superior Court, Third Judicial District in Alaska. Since his territory is roughly the size of Ohio and very remote, Judge Torrisi uses snow machines, boats and small planes to travel to hear cases. He has seen disputes over reindeer herding and has heard a homicide case in a makeshift courtroom on an island in the Bering Sea.
Jean Deighan '76
Jean Deighan '76 has her own investment firm, Deighan Associates, Inc., in Bangor, Maine. She also serves on the boards for the Maine Law School of Law Foundation, the University of Maine Board of Visitors and the Bangor Museum and Center for History.
John A. Woodcock, Jr. '76
Hon. John A. Woodcock, Jr. '76 is the Federal Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Maine in Bangor. He serves on the University of Maine School of Law's Board of Visitors and was honored with the Maine Law Alumni Association's Distinguished Service Award in 2005.

President Jimmy carter and Li Ping '00
President Jimmy Carter with Li Ping '00 at a dinner in 2004 at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Ping was one of three experts who briefed Carter on development of China's rural land tenure reforms. Ping is an attorney for the Rural Development Institute in Beijing.
President George H. W. Bush and Bryce Weatherly '97
Bryce Weatherly '97 (pictured with President George H.W. Bush at an event in 2002 during which the Point of Light Foundation presented Washington Mutual with an award for volunteerism) is special assistant to the chairman and chief executive officer for Washington Mutual, Inc. in Seattle. He says, "Maine Law really helped open doors that previously were unimaginable to me." Weatherly benefited greatly from the School's alumni/ae network. His first job in Seattle was the result of making contact with a local alum.
